Booking Step by Step

THE OFFER

All our offers are individually tailored to your tastes and needs.

We feel that with the kind of charter we are selling it is very important to get to know all personal wishes and requirements of our customers, so there will be a counselling interview before any reservation. In the interview you will be asked which type of yacht you would like to charter (motor yacht, sailing yacht, or catamaran), which yacht size your are looking for, how many people will be on board, the purpose of your journey (private or business charter, holiday or cultural journey, expedition or sporting holiday), which is your preferred charter location, whether you are looking for special equipment, and so on.

After this detailed briefing BlueSun will send you offers for a variety of luxury yachts you might want to consider.

BOOKINGS

Immediately after you have come to a decision you will receive our MYBA charter agreement which will outline your reservation details for the booking of the yacht you desire (charter price, equipment, and extras).

To make sure that your yachting vacation can be organised to your complete satisfaction, you will also be sent a Preference Sheet to be filled out prior to your charter. This form states your travel dates and details any items that may be desired on board: Airline information, airport transfers, your food and drink preferences, your wishes with regard to the service on board, everything will be stated in the Preference Sheet.

The form will then be forwarded to the crew who will professionally make all the necessary preparations for you. If you want anything to be changed at short notice we will certainly do everything to arrange for it.

PAYMENT
A 50 % deposit is due with the signed charter agreement, not including the APA (Advanced Provisiong Allowance; please see below). The final payment plus APA is due one or two months prior to the charter.

A.P.A

A.P.A stands for Advanced Provisioning Allowance. It is an amount calculated at 20-30 % of the base charter amount for items not included in the charter price.

It is used to pay for the costs that arise during the journey: fuel for the yacht, the watercrafts, and the generator, mooring fees, taxes, food and beverages, telephone, telefax, and so on, i. e. for all extras that are desired and used during the charter.
All financial matters will be settled on board with the captain prior to disembarkation. Difference amounts will either be refunded to you or have to be paid.

In the following we would like to answer some frequently asked questions:

EMBARKATION AND DISEMBARKATION OTHER THAN IN THE PORT OF DEPARTURE

Embarkation or disembarkation in a (reachable) harbour of your choice is certainly possible. Transfer costs will have to be paid extra. More details can be found in your offer.

GENERAL RULE FOR TIPPING THE CREW

Tips are not included in the charter price. Gratuity is customary at 5-10 % of the base charter rate.

CHILDREN ON BOARD

On most yachts children are welcome guests. Sometimes a nanny is requested on board for young children up to a certain age. Please indicate whether there will be children on board when inquiring for a yacht reservation. Keep in mind, however, that the crew are always quite busy with their assigned duties and are not at liberty to offer childcare services.

SMOKING ON BOARD

Smoking is restricted to the outside decks. There is no smoking in the vessel's interior.
Permission has to be asked for each yacht individually.

WILL IT BE EASY TO GET DOCKAGE IN ONE OF THE MOST FREQUENTED MARINAS IN THE
WESTERN MEDITERRANEAN (LIKE PORTO CERVO, ST. TROPEZ, MONACO, ETC.)?

Please note that in the main (summer) season the number of yachts looking for berthing in the most frequented harbours is fairly high whereas berthing can be scarce. We therefore have to know as soon as possible which harbours you would like to go to for a stopover so that the crew may take the necessary steps in good time. We will do our best to fulfil your wishes but cannot always guarantee to get a moorage in the harbours you desire.

ARE NIGHT CRUISES PERMITTED?

Yes, night cruises are permitted depending on the weather conditions and your itinerary.

USE OF THE WATERSPORTS EQUIPMENT ON BOARD

Use of the watersports equipment on board is permitted for the guests. Please ask the crew for instructions, if necessary.

SCUBA DIVING

Scuba diving can be organised on request in collaboration with recommended diving schools and instructors. Please note that scuba diving is not permitted in all countries. In some countries extra permissions have to be obtained.

ANIMALS ON BOARD

Animals are not permitted on board.
