Depending on size and season, crewed charters start at around €30,000 to €60,000 per week; superyachts from 54 metres are at €250,000 or more. On top of that comes the APA for running costs and local tax where applicable. We give you an honest overall budget in advance, with no surprises.
Transparency from the outset. Your charter price is made up as follows:
Total price = charter fee + local tax* + APA
- Charter fee: covers the yacht and the entire crew.
- Local tax*: the statutory VAT of the cruising area concerned.
- APA (25 to 40% of the charter fee): covers all running costs incurred during your trip. These include fuel (for the yacht, generators and water toys), berthing fees and your individual food, drinks and special requests.
At the end of your charter, the captain gives you a detailed statement: any credit is refunded to you directly, and any shortfall is settled on the spot.
* Statutory VAT is added to the base charter fee and depends on the country in which your charter officially begins. Tax rates in the Mediterranean, as of 2026:

The tax rates apply to the charter fee only. The APA and the voluntary gratuity for the crew are tax-free. All information is provided without guarantee.
- On signing the contract: a 50% deposit on the charter fee to confirm the booking.
- 4 to 6 weeks before the charter begins: the remaining 50% of the charter fee plus the APA (onboard budget) and any applicable local taxes.
Your security and the protection of your investment are our top priority. We work with the internationally recognised standard contracts of MYBA and CYBA. They give you maximum legal certainty: from secure handling and protected escrow accounts to clear, fair cancellation terms and rigorously vetted yachts and crews.
Yes, with BlueSun Luxury Yachts you enjoy the full comfort of a yacht with a professional crew. We arrange crewed charters only: the captain, an excellent chef and the service crew are permanently on board and entirely devoted to your well-being.
Tipping (the gratuity) is entirely at your discretion: if you were delighted with the service, a gratuity of 10 to 20 per cent of the base charter fee is customary throughout the yachting world.
For peak-season weeks and well-known yachts: six to twelve months ahead. At short notice, more is often possible than you might think; thanks to our direct line to the owners, we can still find the right yacht late in the day.
Absolutely: your culinary preferences set the menu. On board, private top chefs create every dish exactly to your wishes. Whether refined vegan or vegetarian creations, kosher or halal meals, specific food intolerances or a taste for exotic specialities: before your trip, we record all your wishes in detail in a preference sheet. Your chef shops accordingly and conjures up exclusive five-star dining moments every day.
No, on board all that matters is your personal well-being. Simply wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. The only particularity is the ‘barefoot rule’ observed on luxury yachts worldwide: to protect the fine teak deck, no street shoes are worn on board. On deck, you go barefoot, in socks or in clean boat shoes with soft, light-coloured soles.
Your privacy is our top priority. The crews on our luxury yachts are trained to the highest standards of absolute discretion. They work almost invisibly in the background, yet are attentive and on hand the moment you need anything. Your captain also plans the route so that you can drop anchor in remote, idyllic bays away from the bustle and enjoy your time away in perfect peace.
Yes, modern connectivity comes with you out at sea. The yachts in the BlueSun Luxury Yachts portfolio are equipped with powerful satellite systems (such as Starlink) or coastal routers, which usually give you a stable connection. Please note, however, that reception may be temporarily limited by natural conditions in particularly remote areas or on the open sea.
This is where the great advantage of your private yacht comes into its own: you enjoy maximum flexibility. Unlike a hotel on land, with BlueSun Luxury Yachts you are not tied to one place. If clouds gather, your captain adapts the route on the spot and simply steers the yacht to wherever the sun is shining for you.
What is more, modern stabilisers on board keep the yacht calm and steady, even at anchor. Should the sea nevertheless become rougher, we will find you a sheltered, picturesque bay or a charming harbour. This way, your time away with me remains safe, comfortable and carefree at all times.
The Mediterranean from May to October, the Caribbean from November to April, Dubai and the Indian Ocean in winter. So it is in season practically all year round: somewhere, the weather is always perfect.
For peak season and a specific yacht, we recommend booking six to twelve months ahead. Thanks to our direct contact with the owners, however, we can often still find a first-class solution four to six weeks before departure.
