You will experience these Highlights in Croatia
Yacht charter Croatia
Croatia is a captivating jewel with countless facets. Between Rovinj in the north and Dubrovnik in the south, one highlight follows the next. In town harbours like Hvar, you can moor your luxury charter yacht at a pier where Roman galleys used to dock. Sights such as Diocletian’s Palace in Split or the archaeological site of Solin are reminders of the country’s rich historical heritage.
Croatia’s bays are among the most beautiful in the entire Mediterranean: the scent of wild rosemary rises from the karst slopes, and through the crystal-clear water you can see all the way to the bottom of the sea. The hospitality and hearty specialities of the Croatians are also legendary, from air-dried ham and slivovitz to the simple but delicious restaurant culture of the “konobas”. In the summer months, the islands in particular attract party people: On the beach of the north Dalmatian island of Pag, the world’s hottest DJs get the crowd going.
Plitvice Lakes: Unique Natural Landscape
In the hilly karst region, in the middle of Croatia, lies the largest and oldest national park in southern Europe. The Plitvice Lakes were declared a UNSECO World Heritage Site many years ago and have been under special protection ever since. The landscape is characterised by a unique water world, whose waterfalls connect the highest lake at 636 m with the deepest at 503 m.
Incidentally, Winnetou films were shot in the 60s in the approximately 30,000-hectare national park. The Plitvice Lakes therefore attract Winnetou fans, nature lovers and hikers in particular.
Old Town of Dubrovnik: The Pearl of the Adriatic Sea
The picturesque old town of Dubrovnik is located at the southern tip of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea and is enclosed by a walkable city wall over a length of almost two kilometres. From up here, fantastic views of the azure open sea open up. Inside the walls, you can look out over orange roofs. Historic buildings worth seeing come together here in a very small space to form an impressive ensemble. Fans of the Game of Thrones series can discover many famous film locations on a 1.5-hour tour.
