Destination · November to March
Expedition yachts for the short season at the end of the world, usually from Ushuaia across the Drake Passage.
Antarctica is not a cruising area you simply sail into. Only a few yachts are built and certified for these waters, and the season is short: it runs from November to March, and the most reliable months are December to February. The rest of the year remains closed.
The journey there usually goes via Ushuaia at the southern tip of South America and from there across the Drake Passage. That crossing is part of the trip and calls for time in the plan as well as a crew that knows these waters. Once it is behind you, you experience a landscape that no other charter can compare with.
For an expedition yacht in Antarctica, one thing matters above all: plan early. The number of suitable vessels is small, the number of available dates is just as small, and the price depends on the vessel and the length of the voyage. Get in touch with us and we will check what is available in the period you have in mind.
Prices on request. The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) covers fuel, harbour fees and provisions. It is paid in advance and settled at the end of the charter, and anything left over is refunded to you.
