Destination · October to April
A skyline instead of cliffs, warm water in January and service on a par with Emirates.
Dubai and the Emirates are a cruising area for the months when the Mediterranean has closed for the season. From October to April the air temperature sits at a pleasant 25 to 30 degrees, the water stays warm, and ahead of the bow stands a backdrop of architecture rather than cliffs. Palm Jumeirah and the World Islands lie directly off Dubai Marina.
The distances are short, and a trip here looks different accordingly: many charters last a day or a weekend rather than a full week, which makes the area well suited to corporate occasions and short breaks. If you want to be out for longer, you sail from Dubai to the fjords of Musandam in Oman, or from Abu Dhabi to the island of Sir Bani Yas.
On board and ashore, local regulations apply, among them rules on alcohol and on clothing off the yacht. Your crew knows them and will go through them with you before you cast off. You charter a yacht in Dubai from places such as Dubai Marina or Abu Dhabi.
Price range: from €40,000 per week, plus APA and local tax where applicable. The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) covers fuel, harbour fees and provisions. It is paid in advance and settled at the end of the charter, and anything left over is refunded to you.
